A book which was written by the then Lipa Archbishop Mariano Gaviola y Garcés (Archbishop of Lipa 1981–1992), signed April 16, 1995. Archbishop Gaviola’s response to a nun’s appeals to display the original statue carved in the image of Teresita Castillo’s visions of Mary (which the nuns spared from being destroyed in the early 1950s led to an era of a more relaxed and more lavished devotion to the Mediatrix. In the early 1990s, Archbishop Gaviola commissioned a study of the events relating to apparitions in Lipa Carmel. He did not seek to re-open the original case of Mary’s supposed appearances to Teresita Castillo, but rather to investigate miraculous claims owing to the intervention of Mary Mediatrix after the negative decree of 1951. This book is his reflections on the story and the case of the Lipa Apparitions.
